Jesus’ Baptism

“Jesus knew, from that point on, once he had been what you term ‘baptized’ or taken in his awareness to that state where he is the Son of God, that there was no turning back. At that point, that was it. And when he approached John (i.e. the Baptist), John hesitated, for John knew the full impact of what, from that moment on, would be taking place. And he went to Jesus and he said, ‘This is it, my brother. Are you ready? Do you really want to go through with this?’ And Jesus said, ‘Yes, I must do this now.’ And so John, that aspect of consciousness which makes way, made way and he baptized him.
Now, it tells you in your Scriptures that a dove appeared and a voice from heaven saying, ‘This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.’ The actuality of it was that the energy, that Christ energy, came at that moment from a realm beyond the consciousness of the man Jesus, and it entered into, fully entered into the soul properties of this entity. Up to that point, it had all of these things but in a scattered way, even as you do in your souls - your scattered wisdom, your scattered love, your scattered everything.
Now came that sacred moment in which the sheep were called into the fold. As John put his hand upon him and submerged him into the water and brought him up, it symbolized the washing away of (i.e. Jesus’ past lives as…) Joshua, Buddha, Joseph, Hermes, all of them. All of the error perceptions of any limitation whatsoever was gone! And the energy that came in from above connected, and there was, from this point on, Oneness that would never, ever be gone. It was forever, this divine connection.
When Jesus emerged, he was transformed, every little residue of any error perception in him had literally been washed away. Now, he needed time to allow the cells of his body to acclimate to this change. He needed time to get used to it. He needed time to let it become an integral part of him in such a way that he was familiar with it, that it was not strange or different to him.
And so he went off into the desert by himself - by himself, in terms of any physical company - but there he communed, first with the angels, then beyond angels into High Masters, beyond High Masters, until he could open this man totally in consciousness to the Christ and there would be nothing in between. He could do the things of Hermes. He could love as Joseph loved. He could have the wisdom of a Buddha. He was that which was the truly, only begotten Son of God.
Now during this time he was shown in great detail the unfoldment of the next few years of his life, and he was given time to assimilate that, to weep over it, to rejoice over it, to walk through the fears and to come, at last. to a sense of peace.
When he emerged from the desert… and by the way, this is the symbolism of all the temptations of the so-called Satan. It wasn't Satan at all; It was his own ego self that challenged the right of the Christ to be there. Remember, he was taken upon the temple and told to cast himself off? You all know the stories of that.
When he came forth, now he had to call forth the twelve faculties within man, as represented by the twelve disciples. And so he chose them. He handpicked them. Now the interesting thing was, of course, before they all came to Earth, they all knew what their job was. They had been handpicked before they even reached the earth plane to do this and asked if they would participate and they said ‘Yes.’
As with all of the people in Jesus' life… all of them chose to be with him at this time. As he went forth to teach, he realized that there was a difficulty in putting into words what he knew… But he also recognized how needy were the souls of the people to whom he taught, and he also recognized the familiar faces of the people in the cities, in the hills, in Jericho, the women, the children, the old people. ‘Take no prisoners,’ Joshua said, and before him were the multitudes and guess who the multitudes were? The people in the cities, the people in Jericho, the people that Joshua had slain. Here was the redemptive life forms restoring what had once been slain. Not the error perception, not that, but redeeming in truth what had been slain in error. Know you what I say?
Now the teachings of Jesus were given on two levels: one on the level of the average individual who was raised as Jew or Gentile, who had old stuff to get through, and on the level of the higher ones who had evolved and could take in and know what he was speaking of. He also recognized within them a sense of hopelessness - a hope that there was something and yet not a faith to acknowledge that ‘Yes, indeed, there is something.’ And so much of the healing that he did was not of the physical form but was of the soul.”
