The Blessings You Give

“One might wonder what being audacious in the eyes of God would consist of. I think perhaps the very first thing that God would do to be audacious would be to be about as loving and as caring and as embracing as one could possibly be. Now when one thinks of being audacious and being daring, one thinks of going forth into the winds of fate, as it were, with banners flying and fearless. Well, there is nothing that takes more courage or fearlessness than loving because that is the one area in which most people find it scary to be, in a state of love. Love seems to be something that most people avoid while they ardently seek it.
. .. Let us suppose that you are ardently seeking to feel love in your life and yet your world is filled to the brim with busyness. You are more busy than you care to be. You don't ever seem to have two seconds of time to yourselves. Someone is always asking something of you. There always seems to be something waiting for you to do. Your world is so crammed with activity that, after a bit, you just despair of ever having a moment's time in which to just be. Does that sound familiar to anyone here?
Now one might say, ‘Well, then you must clear away the clutter.’ But before you go throwing out bags of clutter, let us examine what that clutter might be. What is so filling your lives? Is it people who ask things of you? Is it situations that demand your attention to the extent where sometimes you feel weary of them?
Let us examine that. Would it be that the people who are so demanding of you are that way because they find in you something of a treasure? They might not name it that. But is it because they find that from you there comes this love, this feeling of stability, this feeling that you can fix anything that might be broken, or that you are the answer, or have the answer to whatever might be beleaguering them at the time? And so, they call upon you again and again and again until after a bit, you begin to wonder, why is this person after me all the while?
Now let us take a situation in which you are constantly expected to fix things, whether it be people, situations, whatever. You are constantly being asked to make something that is amiss, correct. That can get to be a bit much at times, can it not? Why do you suppose that you are drawing to yourself that kind of situation? Why are you drawing to you needy people? Why are you bringing into your experience situations that consistently require your utmost care? Why are you always the one who gets to be it in the game of making life a pleasant experience?
Now remember, you will bring to you exactly what you desire to experience ,so let us think about this. If you are surrounded by people who are very needy and constantly want take a little piece of this and a little piece of that and a piece of something else out of your life, could it be possible that when you entered upon the earth, you filled your sack with blessings? And you said, ‘These blessings shall pass through me to others, and I shall be a blessing upon the path of life for many.’
Could it be that you set about upon your task on the earth plane to of taking from your sack of love little gems that made people feel whole and well again? There were times when situations were overbearing on someone, and yet they could come to you and through you, through your word or your deed, you lifted some of the burden and brought a little light in their life. Could it be that you have chosen to share with others upon the path, the blessing of your light?
Oh yes you do. I hear someone's thinking, ‘I don't have any light to give. I don't know what they mean by a light.’ It is the very essence of yourself, the Godness of you peeping through and saying to others in that sweet silent voice, I represent the most high. I look like an ordinary person, but through me there passes the blessings of my child of God to your child of God.
Could it be that your home is a place where people find sanctuary even if they only stay for a few moments? Could it be that on your path, you have chosen to spread the seeds of kindness, of love, of caring, of insight, of understanding? And in doing so, have you not drawn to you, in this strange unrecognizable guise of needy people, a very strong and profound expression of God's love for you?
Think, Beloveds, what do you give to others? For that is the token of love that will return to you again and again and again. Now where does audacity come into this? In this wise it comes into it: It offers you the opportunity to go forth, audaciously giving out with love, with the very presence of your being.
