Mother Mary on Judgment

“'Judgment of others is like a dark cloud that forms in front of your eyes and does not allow you to see truth. The more you judge, the greater and darker the cloud becomes, until after a while all you can see is yourself, and that self appears to you to be superior to all others. In the vision of yourself, all others appear lacking for you compare them to yourself. Since your vision of yourself is not correct, the other always appears to be lesser than you, and this leads you into yet another sin, that of pride.'

'So now your soul has two more limitations - for these particular sins are very heavy and thick, most difficult to be rid of, for you cannot see the truth. These sins will make you lose your discernment, for you will see everyone only one way, different and lower than you. It also will blind you to the reason others speak or behave as they do. You will not see that perhaps they are in pain of body, or perhaps of heart. So you will not seek to help them. The gift of the opportunity to serve God, by means of helping the poor soul before you, is also lost.'

'Now we have four sins living in the soul of you: judgment, pride, loss of discernment, and lack of service to aid another. Do you see how judgment is like a serpent in a bird's nest, eagerly swallowing up good deeds that lighten the soul and radiate love to others?'

'Yes, Mother,' they replied. One of the girls known as Celia spoke up.

'Mother, I see the truth of what you say, but how do we tell a good person from someone who is not good, if we don't form a judgment about them?'

'By prayerfully using your discernment. Ask the Father to give you wisdom so that you may see the person in truth, Mother Mary answered. Ask Him also to give you an open heart so that even if the person is not good for you, you may recognize that there is a need in them to be loved. In doing so, you can see them with love, and bless them on their way. Thus you exclude yourself from their influence and yet no harm is done.'”
