Negative Situations

“We are in heaven, but do you know what? We don't think we are there because we have all of these things going on that are not heavenly. What would happen if we became totally oblivious to all of our negative situations? What if we didn't know we had them? What if all we knew was joyousness? How would we live our lives? What would we do differently?
If you were just living totally from your spirit, what would you do?... As Gabriel said, a year ago what were you worried about? What were you worried about last week? I can't even think what I was worried about yesterday now that I think about it!
So those negative situations don't make any difference. They don't do anything constructive for you or for the world. You may think, ‘Well, if I had a different job - or if I had a different this or a different that. The only thing different that you need is a different attitude, a different perspective of your life.
How many of you feel that you have something that you want so much to be different, to be better for yourself or for someone else? I think everyone in the room would want something to be different for someone, if not for yourselves.
So how does this joyous spirit take care of that desire? It takes care of it by causing us to remember that everything we have created presents itself in front of us to walk through and it comes with a wonderful gift. It may be the gift of patience, the gift of trust, the gift of forgiveness. It may be the gift of allowing the experiences of someone without fear of what will happen to him or her. It may be the realization that in truth nothing bad can happen to the person even though it appears that it is going to.
In truth, whatever someone is going through is temporary because the only thing that lasts forever is love. Love is the power and the movement upon which everything exists. Love only brings blessings. Whether the situation is a serious illness or a serious circumstance doesn't change the fact that the law of love works through that situation to change it, to heal it, to make it right. It doesn't matter what the situation is, everything is included in the law of love. Nothing would exist if it weren't for love.
When you know that and when you recognize love as the spiritual truth of your being, then your thoughts, your feelings, what you do, your exchange with other people, take on a different flavor. They don't stay the same.
The first line of a prayer in the book ‘The Gospel of the Essenes’ is ‘I will place on no man the judgment of my mind for his intent is known to God alone.’ That line says a lot about how we should think about other people and ourselves. If we don't place judgment on anyone or on ourselves, look at the burden that is lifted from us.
Look how we no longer have to figure out whether someone's actions are good or bad. We don't have to concern ourselves with the outcome of any situation because it can't be anything other than good. There is no way it can turn out bad.
What is bad? We have all kinds of measurements we use to decide whether something is bad or not. We need to take the external manifestation of what appears to be bad and look at it from the perspective of its intent. The holy purpose that we all have come to the earth to express is our spirituality and our intent toward love and brotherhood.
If there is a situation that is opposite of that intent, then we would name that situation as being bad. But suppose we looked at it as a learning process in which the very holiness of the intent of love has to have certain circumstances to take place in order for us to recognize the lesson.
Recognizing the vastness of who we are as spiritual beings and incorporating that spiritual beingness into our everyday life works. We don't know what we have asked people to do in our lives. We don't know what we have agreed to in letting them come and do the things that appear to be negative to us.
We don't always recognize our intent in their lives either. So we shouldn't judge others in these situations. Sometimes we look back on things, and in retrospect we think, ‘Oh, that was so dumb of me. Why did I say that? Why did I do that? I wish I had been more understanding. I wish this, I wish that.’
Remember, everybody is doing the best they know how at the moment and everyone is giving to you, as you are giving to them, exactly what you have agreed upon in order that you can grow, that they can grow, that you can exchange energies and both of you, all of you can benefit by it.”
