Your Greatest Enemy

"I told you that in your world of form you get cause and effect backwards. You think you are dealing with an effect first instead of recognizing that you have created the cause of that effect...

Here is an event that is in your life that you have created with your thinking. You have projected it forward and placed it on your path. Now here you go progressing toward it. When you come to it you think, 'Ah, look at this. Whatever shall I do? I wasn't prepared for this. I don't know what to do.' Well, when you think you don't know what to do, the ego jumps right in there and says, 'I know what you should do. You better worry because you have a big problem. So I shall help you get absolutely terrified... Then the ego will start drawing from the past in your memory of when something similar happened or when something pushed your buttons, as you call them in your day and time, in which old fears , old misperceptions, old errors in your thinking all come rushing in and you think, 'This is not good. You know the last time something like this happened the outcome was awful. I can't bear it. Oh, I don't know how this ever happened. Why did I ever get myself into that? Dear God, please don't let it happen like this.'

You have yourself right down in the mire. Here are all these little potholes of fear. You know fear is a strange thing. You created it. It is the product of your own thinking and it is your greatest enemy. It is something that you feel you have absolutely no control over.

But you say, 'I can't help being afraid and worrying.' Oh yes you can. First of all, you recognize that whatever that situation is, you called it to you for a purpose. In it is an opportunity to use your God self. In it is an opportunity to go above your fear and into faith...

Here is this terrible situation and the ego is telling you, 'You better be afraid, better worry. I know it is awful. I can't bear to look at it.' Now, you can buy into that illusion and you can make your life miserable. You can worry yourself until you are physically ill. Or you can go within.

'I am the child of God. I am made in His image and likeness. His gift to me of free will allows me to change anything in my life. I choose to change this situation. I choose it to be a joyous experience in which I see the lesson, use my knowingness, and use the gift of God's love to keep me ever in this state of knowingness. I shall walk into this situation and I shall deal with it from the God self of me. As I walk out of the situation, I shall have learned everything I needed to know from it and I don't ever have to go back there again...'

You don't have to... say that this is what it used to be and this is what it is going to be now. That doesn't apply. Take yourself up into the God self of you and look at the situation without emotion.
