"Now, why are you on the earth? And this is true of every single person on the earth with no exception... The earth is the place that you come to to forgive yourself. And that's the only reason anyone is here... is to forgive yourself. Now you might think, 'Forgive myself for what? Be specific. What am I forgiving myself for and I will do it straight away.' However, no one actually is conscious of what they need to be forgiven for, or what you think you need to be forgiven for.
Now, this idea of forgiveness is your own idea. It wasn't God's. He never thought it up. But because you think you walked away from God, you think God is ...ticked off...at you. He's not. But you think He is. Subconsciously, this is the cause of all your problems... is because this is what you truly believe is that God is really, really angry with you and somewhere, somehow, He is going to get you. Well, He's not.
...The ego uses the ploy of something negative is going to happen to you. If you do thus-and-so or if this or that happens, you're in for a bad time. The voice of the ego is the one who's saying, 'You better not do that or 'This is not for you. Why are you doing this?' or worse...
Now, the voice of the Holy Spirit is a soft and gentle voice. It never shouts above the ego's voice but it will come in with comforting words. ...The Holy Spirit sees you as the son of God. The Holy Spirit also sees all of the illusion that you create around yourselves that you believe in that is not true, such as: you can't succeed...you can't do this; you can't do that. So is there any way to make you feel more abandoned, more unworthy, than to have everything in your life go wrong? Not at all, and the ego sits back with its satisfied look and says, 'Ha, did it again. Damn, I'm good.'
Now, what does one do with that? You tune out the voice of the ego and you listen for the soft sweetness of the voice of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will say to you, 'This is an illusion that you created and as you have created it, you can uncreate it. As you have made it your truth, you can unmake it your truth.'
Now, how does one do that? One does that by the very reason you are here and that is to forgive yourself. Since most people have a very misperception of what they need to be forgiven for, it doesn't do a whole lot of good to sit and think about your so-called sins because usually none of them make any difference anyway. It doesn't matter. It's all an illusion. It's something that was created by you to walk through and has absolutely no value whatsoever, so you have to trust the Holy Spirit to take you past that because that is only an erroneous belief system.
In order for you to forgive yourself, you have to forgive everyone else because that is the only way to self-forgiveness. It is the only road that self-forgiveness has... is to forgive everyone that you perceive has ever done anything to you that you think was a wrong. The truth is that they didn't do anything, but while you are in that belief system that they did, the only way is to forgive them.
Now, most people will sit and think, 'Well, I've forgiven everyone. I don't hold any grudges.' ...If you don't hold anything against anyone, why is your life a mess? 'Beats me. These people keep doing things.'
Now, if you believe that someone is doing things then you have not forgiven anyone because those who have truly forgiven know the peace of God. Because, when you have no ill will, no memory that you cling to and treasure of some misdeeds done against you, in rushes the peace of God and the peace of God opens the door to your realization that you are loved by God deeply, profoundly, eternally; and that you are loved and you are forgiven. And those things will set you free of all of the other stuff that you cling to, that you hold fast to. That is why you are upon the earth."
