Living from the God Within

"Your assignment for this week: I want you to take - starting the first day and for five minutes - I want you to think, speak, act from the God of you. You say, 'But how do I do that? Lift your thoughts to the highest that you can conceive. When something troubles you, think: 'How would God deal with this? What would God say to so-and-so?'
My children, how loved you are. How beautiful you are. How treasured you are. The next day, take ten minutes and so on, until you are up to an hour or more of living from the God within you. You say, 'I don't know if I can.' Of course you can! Do it! ...You are working from where you're at and where you're at is what your understanding is at the moment, and all of you do the best that you know how according to your understanding - so that you cannot ever make a mistake.
When you can live a whole twenty-four hours in absolute joy... then, you will know God. Then, you will know that you are living what you are. ...I'm not talking about the joys of sensation... I'm talking about the joy of the Spirit. When you are fearless, when you are well, when you express abundance - and I'm not talking about Cadillacs either - I'm talking about the abundance within you - when you know joy, you know God, for God is joy. [Break]
...Last time I was here I gave homework, and I went about checking and I was greatly disappointed. Some of you didn't bother at all because you didn't understand it and this is alright. Others of you understood it in part and tried it for a little while. Some of you understood it but thought it was too much bother. Others of you understood it but didn't know how to do it. I shall run this by you one more time!
I asked you in your homework to start five minutes and live your life as God. One of you thought, 'I shall go marching into the office today as though I'm God.' The point I am getting at is - it has nothing to do with outside, it has to do with inside. When I say to you, 'Live five minutes as though you were God,' I am speaking of knowing your joys, knowing your loves, knowing your is-ness, your being-ness. Has nothing to do with what you are going to do out there. How can you deal with it our there if you can't deal with it in here first?
...When I say to you, 'Live as though you are God,' I want you to take it, to be it, to feel it inside of you, no matter if your mate or your neighbor knows who you are. What care they? I want you to know this from the within-ness of you, from the womb of your being. I want you to experience the unspeakable joy, the feeling of absolute command that you have over you.
...I'm talking about controlling the inner you, that aspect of you which is divine. Recognize your own divinity. You shall never see it in another if you do not first see it in your own eyes. If you cannot look yourself in your reflecting glasses and see there in your own eyes the beauty and the truth of yourselves...only in that manner can you look into the eyes of another and say, 'I behold the Christ in you.'
First, you must look into your reflecting glasses and say, 'I behold the Christ in myself and I honor it and I love it and I experience it in great joy!' Then, as you do this day-by-day, then you shall have, after a time, control over elevators and street lights and so forth. But I beg you, Children of Goodness and God, learn first of yourselves. Only in that sublime truth shall you find all truth. So be it!"
