Your Ego's Mission

"The ego of you...was created as a device to keep you from harming your physical bodies when you had chosen to enter upon the earth plane. The ego is sort of your built-in alarm system, if you will. It warns you constantly to be mindful of this, be careful of that, look out for this, and so on and so forth. However, in your journey upon the earth, you chose to allow it to rule you, and soon you were listening to it rather than the Lord God of your being. The ego... likes to keep your consciousness - your awareness, your thoughts - centered on your physical form, concerning you always with its well-being - are you too hot, are you too cold, are you fed, are you hungry, are you old, are you young, are you well, are you ill, are you rich, are you poor, and on and on and on."
