The Shepherds

"There were shepherds in the area who were also members of the Essenes and they, looking from within, perceived the star and they wondered about it. …We waited and waited and they sat there. So we finally decided they needed some nudging. A shepherd boy, a young boy, appeared in their mist… And he said, ‘Do you see the light?’ And they said, ‘Yes.’ And he said, ‘I am going to follow it for I believe that something wonderous is taking place.’ …So they sat listening to this young lad and ere they listened, they begin to become in tune… and becoming in tune, they heard the heavenly voices, who were there all the time, but they did not hear them before this. And then they knew… They rose up and went to the cave. The shepherds are like your inner selves in many ways. You know the truth, you perceive it, but you do not follow always until someone comes and pushes you.”
