"Gabriel: Some people are very attached to the earth plane or they may be attached to a particular home, a particular object, a particular room.

Questioner: Is there a way that we can help them move on? Is it our duty, our obligation?

Gabriel: It is not an obligation by any means. It is a loving act to pray them into the light, to always say to them, 'Go to the light,' and envision the light near to them. But until they are ready to go, they aren't going to budge. Angels come and try to help them up. Some of them will go a little ways and then they go back. Others say, 'Oh, I can get out of here? Fine,' and they go on. It depends on how strongly they are attached to whatever it is they are attached to."
