A Beatitude – Meekness

“One of the things that was greatly misinterpreted was when I said, ‘Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.’ That has never been fully understood and I desire to explain that. When I said, ‘Blessed are the meek,’ I did not mean blessed are those who are walked upon … door mats - or anything of that sort. I was referring to those who are meek before God, those who recognize the power and the majesty and the glory of God and who are humble in that recognition of that, who are meek in the receiving of the love of God, who are not... your modern term I guess would be ‘egotistical’ or so into the personality that they do not recognize the touch of God into the Spirit of them.

‘Inheriting the earth’ - that has been greatly misinterpreted as well. The earth is a holy place. It is a very special place, for it is the form, solid form, that the ideas of humankind can work out upon in form. The earth is a living thing and to ‘inherit the earth’ means to be able to bring up the blessings from the earth, the vibrations from the earth, the connectedness that makes you able to be whole, to be on the earth but not of the earth, to be so centered in your Spiritual Self and yet able to be touched into the earth and act upon the earth in form.

Now when one is ‘meek’ before the power of God, when one recognizes the divinity and the holiness therein and incorporates that so strongly in their consciousness, they ‘inherit’ naturally the blessings of the earth, the power that is in the earth to give life to form and to support the form of life.

So to say, ‘Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth’, simply means that in your humbleness before God and your recognition of the sustaining power and the love -  the divine love, ever the love of God - you inherit the blessings thereof. Now people have always taken that to mean that people who are meek and mild and never speak up for themselves they're going to end up with the earth and I often wondered what they will do with it?

So it doesn't have that meaning but rather to use and be aware of the use of the vibrations that is given from the earth and to be thankful for it and to recognize the holiness of that connection because it is a holy connection, very much so a holy connection.”
