Putting Ego in Its Place

"The true work of the ego is to help you. But when the ego gets unreasonable and is causing you to be fearful of things you really don't need to be fearful of, then you need to put your ego in its place. You simply bless it. You say, 'Ego, I bless you. I love you. I thank you for the purpose that you were created. Now get out of my way and do what you are supposed to do!' It is that simple. The ego is very obedient because it recognizes the only life it has is what you give it."

Illusions Defined

"Jesus: Illusion will give you only momentary comfort. It will give you regret. Illusion gives you a false sense of well-being that quickly dissipates in the face of any challenge. When you feel unsure, when you feel afraid, then you can know you are in an illusion. When you have a sense that I'm not well or I'm not safe, then you know you are in an illusion. But when you feel the joy of God and when you feel secure, when you can say, 'God's walking with me through this. I'm not alone and I'm okay and this is going to turn out alright,' then you know you are in your connectedness. You can judge by the fruits of your labors. Is there joy in your life? Are you content? Do you feel a sense of beingness that brings you an aliveness that is beyond the physical? Or are you just going from day to day?

Participant: Do you think that we have to be able to label what the underlying fear is, or belief is, to change it? Because sometimes I think I'm not conscious of it.

Jesus: No, no, I don't. Fear is fear, and it doesn't matter what form it takes - it is fear. So to eliminate the fear, you don't necessarily have to know why you have it. Always knowing the why of something isn't always the answer. There is the rock of faith: the sureness of knowing that 'No matter what is happening, I'm alright and I'm going to come out of this okay.' You have to believe that wherever you are, you are truly alright."

The Essenes

Participant: What happened to the Essenes?

Gabriel: Well, they are not gone, as it were. They disappeared...like thee Mayans and various other groups of people about the earth. Whenever there was a great danger, one in which their teachings would have been destroyed in form, they merely gathered these forms about them and and went up to a higher level and stayed there until the danger passed. Therefore they appeared to have left the earth without a trace. Actually, they did leave the earth without a trace. But what it was, they were just hovering above in the next vibratory rate and therefore, those who searched through physical eyes were unaware of them."
