"Questioner: You have told us to talk to God daily. But since God already knows everything, I don't know what to say.

Gabriel: ...Whatever. Beloved Woman holds continual conversations as she is driving along. 'Well, Father, look at that person. I know You need to bless them greatly because they don't know how to drive!' You can say things of this nature. So you hold these conversations not because God doesn't know but for you to have that contact."

"It (i.e. the ego) is an energy. It doesn't look like anything. You can't see it because it doesn't take a form. It is an energy that is influential. It is not separate from you. It is part of the whole of you, so to speak. But it operates very separately from you because its life depends upon your needing it, wanting it to be there, wanting its help. ...It is an integral part of what you have created. But what you can do is to put it in its proper place and have it do what it was created to do (i.e. be your instinct for survival) rather than what it thinks it ought to do."

"Most people think they learn best through adversity. You have a saying upon your earth: 'No pain, no gain,' and that is not true. You don't have to suffer to learn. You can learn in perfect happiness. You don't have to be in pain to learn something.

How many people here saw the movie of 'The Lion King'? There is a scene in that, in which the lion is beleaguering himself, trying to make a decision. He doesn't want to do this and he thinks he should have to do that and so on. He is thinking that it was his fault that his father was trampled to death. Even though it wasn't, the lion is thinking that. So a baboon comes up with a club and he whacks the lion over the head and the lion says, 'Ow! What was that?' The baboon said, What is the difference? It is past!'

Now there is a very good lesson there. Don't hang onto past pain. Everybody has a horror story of something that happened in their life, or in their childhood perhaps, but it does you no good to dwell on it or to use it as a reason for you to be less than you could be now. There is no reason. It is over, It is done. Forgive whoever participated. Forgive yourself for choosing it and go on with your life because, like the whack on the head, it is over. You don't have to think about it anymore.

A lot of people dwell in the past or they use the past as an excuse. 'Well, I can't succeed because I was always taught that I was a failure.' Well, who are you going to believe, the Spirit of God which is in you or somebody else telling you that you can't do something? Listen to the truth of you. Listen to the voice of intuition. That is the voice of God talking to you."
