"Anger is a strange thing. It wears many faces and one of those faces is depression. ...It is one of those things that sort of creeps upon you and doesn't even let you know it is there until it has its roots deeply embedded in your psyche. Then you become aware that you are depressed.

One of the symptoms of depression is a lack of caring. ...The other is an abiding sorrow that seems to have no basis, a sadness that doesn't ever seem to get better, a feeling of deep grief without there being an external purpose behind it.

That is anger unexpressed as anger, but nonetheless it is anger and its roots lie in the realization that you have to be forgiven. It doesn't matter if you don't know what for. Most people have not a clue. You don't actually have to be forgiven for anything, but because you believe you do, that is your awareness.

You may not think, 'I was a terrible person, therefore God must forgive me.' You may not even consciously have any connection with that. But underneath, in the pot of your soul, there is the belief that somewhere, sometime you did the unforgivable. It isn't necessary for you to know it. Al that is necessary is for you to be aware of that feeling in the soul.

This is the time when you listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and you ask the Holy Spirit to come in and to intervene in your life and to take from you that which you do not see. That takes many steps. It isn't a single step. The Holy Spirit comes instantly. The moment it is invited, it is there. But most people go through a series of steps. They ask the Holy Spirit to come and for a little while things get better. Then things get worse again because ...the ego will call up things.

The other reason things get worse again is because you take back from the Holy Spirit that which you have given. ...Sometimes you are outwardly working very hard at being helped, but inwardly you are not releasing to the Holy Spirit's power the grief, the anger that you are holding onto. So the depression will come back. When it does, simply ask again. Choose again to have the Holy Spirit come and take it from you.

...But in truth, Beloveds, step-by-step, each time you ask, the Holy Spirit takes away more and more and more of the fear and if you must ask a thousand times a day, then so be it. But ask and willingly let go. Also, when you ask the Holy Spirit to take something from you, it is wise to say, 'Holy Spirit, please take this from me and please help me to allow you to take it,' because many times on the one hand you are giving and on the other hand you are pulling it back. So it is very important for you to be aware that you have to also ask for help to let go of whatever you have asked.

Don't forget, Beloveds, you have had this anger inside of you for thousands and thousands and thousands of years. So it is not something you are going to get rid of in the twinkling of an eye. But you do get rid of it. Each time the Holy Spirit is called upon, spirit becomes more powerful and the ego becomes less powerful. And so it goes until at last you discover that you are forgiven. Because you are forgiving, you are forgiven. Then the love of God comes flooding in upon you and that love becomes your reality.

[Editor's note: Gabriel has taught us that one of the ways the Holy Spirit helps us take away problems, such as fears, anger, depression, is by working through appropriate physical avenues such as medical specialists.]

“Ever has it been that when the consciousness of humankind is to come up, it has to be because where they are dwelling is too painful to remain and they have to seek higher ground, as it were, within themselves. And always it seems that you project outward unto your world the pain that you have held within. Every war that has ever been fought, every act of destruction, is nothing more than the out-picturing of what you feel within yourselves has happened to you, because you feel you have walked away from Him who loves you.

You have gone nowhere; you are as present with the Father now as ever you have been. As ever you will ever be. In the days to come, hold fast to this truth that you and the Father are one indeed. And there is no place that you can be, or nothing that you can perceive in your world as happening, that can harm you. For you are Beloved of the Father.

You will see brothers running through the streets, taking things that do not belong to them. You will see others who will play victim, as it were, and cry for someone to save them. Help them. For, in reaching out to them, they become your saviors and you theirs. There is the connectedness between you.

Whenever you reach to another with love, the savior of you has come forth. And they are merely giving you the opportunity to be a savior unto them, even as they are a savior unto you. For, if you never reached out in love and compassion and forgiveness to another, how could you ever know God?

Someone asked me what God looks like. God cannot be seen. Can only be known. It is that which you know in the innermost center of your being. That is God. It is the most profound love. It is the depth of forgiveness. It is the height of joy. It is the warmth of comfort. It is the liveliness, the on-going-ness that is the motion that is you. It is ever becoming more through you.

And, as you allow it, and recognize it, and bless it, and love it, and recognize it, and bless it, and love it and recognize it and love it in others, so it becomes more. And this is the coming of the Christ upon earth. This is the second coming, Beloveds.

It is the second coming, which is through you. Through humankind looking at one another and saying, ‘Ah, behold, I see the face of the Christ and I love it indeed.’ That is Christmas healing the wound that never happened – bridging the space that does not exist.

Listening to the silent voice and not hearing the clamor of the world. Reaching within you to bless and love someone who is without. This is Christmas.

"You cry out for peace. You ask and you pray and the only peace that you will find lies within your own hearts. 'When two or more are in agreement,' the Christ said, 'there I am in the midst of them.' Know you what this means? It means that when two hearts can love enough to behold the God within each other and themselves, they are in At-one-ment, and in that At-one-ment there is peace and it begins with you. And the two of you become four and six and eight until finally it is all around the earth. And then, what we sang so long ago, peace to men of earth, becomes a reality."
