"The one who teaches you the most is frequently the one who presents themselves in your life as the most trying person you have ever met. The one who offers you the biggest opportunity to forgive is the one who does everything you hate. The one who riles you up, who makes you angry, who makes you think, 'Oh, I give up. I can't. It's no use.' The one who pushes all your buttons is the one that is your dearest ally because that person is giving you an opportunity to come up out of the ego's belief system and into the knowingness of the Christ who says, 'There's nothing you can say or do to me that's going to hurt me because the son of God cannot be hurt, the son of God cannot be attacked, and the son of God cannot be injured in any way or form whatsoever. So therefore, I bless you, dear friend. In all of your antagonistic ways, I bless you and I thank God for you and I forgive you and I release you and I let you go to your highest good and I thank you so much for the opportunity that you have afforded me to forgive you with love.' That is why you're all here.
Now, forgiving... every time you forgive someone, whether it be for a little thing or a huge thing - makes no difference - there is no difference in the value of what you are forgiving for. A little forgiveness has as much value as a great forgiveness. It is the act of forgiveness that forgives you, for forgiveness is a strange thing. Whenever it is given, it comes back to embrace the giver. Whenever it is given, it comes back to free the giver. It isn't the person being forgiven that is getting the value of this. It is the person doing the forgiving that is getting the value of it and that is very important."
