Receiving God's Gifts

"Now, the only thing a person has to do to receive all of these things (i.e. gifts) is to be open to it. Now, what do I mean by being open to it? Simply saying, 'Oh, dear Father, I need thus and so.' 'Oh, I hope he gives it to me... Oh, I do hope he hears me...I shall light a candle!' You don't do that... God hears you the first time. So, you pray and you say, 'Father, it appears to me that I have need of thus-and-so. Your will be done through me. I know and I accept this blessing. I accept it.' ...And then you forget about it because what you have done is open yourself to receive the gift, and I don't care what it be."
